3D Upright Double Olympic Medal Cake

This was to celebrate our double bronze medal win in the London 2012 Olympic Games. Although I'm not the patriotic type, but still feel quite proud of our table tennis team who secured 2 medals (i think first in our history). So was really happy and excited to do this cake. 

This was a structural nightmare as had to support 2 upright circles, and circles essentially have no base. Would have to say this cake was half carpentry and half cake design. 

And it appeared in the newspaper too! But don't think anyone who saw it knew it was cake. Add nope, not sad at all that it is getting cut up by our table tennis team and SM.
